Synopsis from Goodreads

When nineteen-year-old huntress Feyre kills a wolf in the woods, a beast-like creature arrives to demand retribution for it. Dragged to a treacherous magical land she only knows about from legends, Feyre discovers that her captor is not an animal, but Tamlin—one of the lethal, immortal faeries who once ruled their world.

As she dwells on his estate, her feelings for Tamlin transform from icy hostility into a fiery passion that burns through every lie and warning she’s been told about the beautiful, dangerous world of the Fae. But an ancient, wicked shadow grows over the faerie lands, and Feyre must find a way to stop it… or doom Tamlin—and his world—forever.

General Impression

I’m so upset that I waited this long to read this book. It was honestly fantastic and I regret every second I wasted not reading it before now.

I read Throne of Glass years ago and honestly don’t remember anything, so I didn’t really know what to expect with Sarah J. Maas – other than the hype that everyone else gives her. But the hype didn’t disappoint! A Court of Thorns of Roses was a heart-stopping romance with strong characters and a deliciously evil villain. Not to mention that it was a wonderfully creative and unique retelling. Intriguing, captivating, and mysterious – a spectacular novel! Continue reading

Mini-Review: Rusk University Series by Cora Carmack

Ms. Carmack is truly a literary genius and one of my absolute favorite authors. Of her extensive repertoire, I’ve read All Lined UpAll Broke DownAll Played Out, Losing It, Faking It, and Inspire. I’ve fallen in love each time (though I do have my favorites). Here, I’m going to include some mini-reviews of the 3 released books in the Rusk University Series (New Adult Romance read as Kindle eBooks).

Synopsis from Goodreads

When Tate Collins meets airline pilot Miles Archer, she knows it isn’t love at first sight. They wouldn’t even go so far as to consider themselves friends. The only thing Tate and Miles have in common is an undeniable mutual attraction. Once their desires are out in the open, they realize they have the perfect set-up. He doesn’t want love, she doesn’t have time for love, so that just leaves the sex. Their arrangement could be surprisingly seamless, as long as Tate can stick to the only two rules Miles has for her.

Never ask about the past.
Don’t expect a future.

They think they can handle it, but realize almost immediately they can’t handle it at all.

Hearts get infiltrated.
Promises get broken.
Rules get shattered.
Love gets ugly.

General Impression

I was ridiculously excited to read this book – I ordered it from my online library and got an eBook for it. Right away, I jumped in. I’d been waiting weeks to read it. Everyone raves about how it’s their favorite Colleen Hoover book. I read Confess by Hoover last year and enjoyed it. I figured Ugly Love would blow me out of the water. Unfortunately, this book was a huge, heaping disappointment. Continue reading
